After a two year break since their last release ‘Transmit Disrupt’, HELL IS FOR HEROES went back in the studio to record their eponymous follow up, an album of brooding and powerful rock. From the hypnotic wall of guitars of “To Die For” to anthemic, pulsing distortion of first single “You’ve Got Hopes”, from the sweeping vocals of “Once And For All” to the simple ballsy groove of “Hand’s Up!”, this is an album showcasing a band at their very best and most intense, full of driving rhythm sections and intricate guitar lines overlaid with powerful melodies.
The band, formed in early 2001, quickly rose to prominence with their EMI released debut “The Neon Handshake”. Released in 2003, the album drew widespread critical and commercial acclaim – selling over 50,000 copies in the UK alone. The album also spawned 3 UK Top 40 singles in “Night Vision”, “You Drove Me To It” and “Retreat”. Following a split with EMI in 2004 the band followed up their debut with another acclaimed album in “Transmit Disrupt” through credible indie label Captains Of Industry which spawned over 25,000 downloads of the track ‘One of us’ as well as widespread critical praise: Gold-plated and with a granite core, the strongest and most glorious fuck you of the year – Rocksound.
Hell Is For Heroes have established themselves as a powerful live act. They have toured across the world with bands as diverse as Biffy Clyro, Reuben, Aereogramme, 'A', Hundred Reasons, Sparta, thisGIRL, Feeder and Papa Roach. The band remain a powerful live draw – as recently as February 2007 selling out a 20 date UK tour including the Islington Academy in London.
