“Passionate, anthemic rock likely to make your toes wiggle and your head nod” Rock Sound
“Epic rock, but in a good way. Great Exit Lines was made for a summer loud-sing” More
“Expect District to go global” Big Cheese
“A mature rock record with emo roots, owing much to the prolific songwriting of U2 and The Police without sounding like something your dad would listen to” Rock Sound Exposure

Hailing from the stony shores of Brighton, District are an ambitious new act born from the currently blossoming British rock movement.
Tired of faceless pop punk and by-numbers ‘emo’ rock, District set out in May 2005 to exist by a manifesto of musical honesty from the get go; their sole intention to write the kind of songs they wanted to hear, and had grown up listening to.
Instead of concerning themselves with current trends, District reconnected with the bands that soundtracked their collective youths, taking influence from classic rock, 90’s alternative, vintage post-hardcore and ‘80s pop.
The end result of a year of dedicated writing is District’s forthcoming debut album ‘Great Exit Lines’, a collection of sincere and passionate rock songs loaded with melody, mood and anthemic hooks.
The album, due for release in July 2006 via Golf Records, is proof that District are a band only interested in songs; a band focused and thriving on the power of proper tunes - their only aim to make you soar and shiver.
District is not a band for the so-called scene, but their songs will move you, involve you and put spring in your step. And even if you don’t let them, they’ll get to you in the end.

Resistance is, as they say, futile.
